Otedola reportedly acquires London mansion worth £53 million

Femi Otedola has reportedly purchased a £53 million mansion in London, further expanding his portfolio of luxury assets in the United Kingdom.

According to Bloomberg, the 10-bedroom property is situated in St John’s Wood, one of London’s most prestigious neighbourhoods located near Regent’s Park. Reports indicate that the acquisition was finalised late last year, based on a UK filing.

The mansion, completed in 2016, is said to feature high-end amenities including a cinema, spa, and cigar room. It was previously listed for £75 million in 2020.

Otedola serves as chairman and majority shareholder of First HoldCo Plc, a major Nigerian financial institution with interests in energy, finance, shipping, and insurance brokerage.

The purchase reflects sustained interest in London’s luxury property market despite increasing taxes and policy changes affecting foreign investors. Prime locations such as St John’s Wood, Belgravia, and Chelsea continue to attract wealthy international buyers.

The report also noted that several prominent Nigerian business figures have recently been linked to expensive real estate acquisitions in London. In 2025, Roosevelt Ogbonna reportedly acquired a £15 million property in Hampstead.

St John’s Wood is widely recognised for its exclusive residential setting, luxury detached homes, privacy, and close proximity to landmarks such as Regent’s Park and the Lord’s Cricket Ground.
