Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, has felicitated the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, on the occasion of his 58th birthday.

Otu expressed optimism that Yilwatda’s leadership would help steer the ruling APC towards increased electoral victories as the country approaches the 2027 general elections.

The governor conveyed his message in a goodwill statement signed by his Chief of Staff, Emmanuel Ironbar, on Tuesday to commemorate Yilwatda’s birthday.

He described the APC national chairman as a seasoned administrator and politician, noting that his extensive experience would be an asset to the party.

Otu also praised Yilwatda’s efforts to strengthen the party and foster unity among its members. He emphasised that a united leadership was essential to consolidating the APC’s existing structures and broadening its political reach across Nigeria.

According to the governor, Yilwatda’s experience in academia, electoral administration, public service and politics had prepared him to lead the party at an important stage in the country’s political development.

The governor stated, “I am confident that Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda will continue to deploy his experience and political ingenuity to build a stronger and more united APC capable of achieving greater electoral success.”

Otu further expressed confidence that the APC would expand its influence across the states under Yilwatda’s leadership, improve its grassroots structures and record more victories in the 2027 elections.

He said, “As we look towards 2027, I am confident that a united, focused and determined APC will consolidate its achievements, expand its electoral frontiers and renew the confidence of Nigerians in our party.”

The Cross River governor wished Yilwatda continued good health, wisdom and strength, while praying for divine guidance as he serves the party and the nation.
