The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has commenced his studies at Northwest University, Kano, following his admission as a 200-level law student.
The traditional ruler was seen attending lectures alongside other undergraduates on Tuesday, wearing a black flowing robe and a white turban.
His presence in the classroom comes just days after the university granted him special admission into its Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) programme in Common and Sharia Law.
According to the institution, the admission was granted in recognition of his vast experience in governance, economics and public service.
Despite being a PhD holder and former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Sanusi has continued to champion education, social reform and intellectual engagement, remaining a prominent and often provocative voice in Nigeria’s public space.
