Police intercept another vehicle using fake presidency plate in Abuja

Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have intercepted another vehicle allegedly bearing a fake Presidency number plate in Abuja.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, disclosed that the vehicle was intercepted on Monday while being driven by Mr Agboun Godson Benard.

According to the statement, the black Toyota Corolla, displaying the Presidency registration number M01-997 FG, remains in police custody as investigations into the incident continue.

“During preliminary investigation, the driver of the vehicle could not give a satisfactory explanation as to the source of the registration number.

“Investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding its allocation, ownership and use, as well as the authenticity of the registration particulars,” Adeh said.

This is coming barely five days after a suspect allegedly impersonating a permanent secretary attached to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, was arrested with a vehicle bearing a fake Presidency number plate.
