The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspected members of the Shilla Boys gang over an alleged armed robbery incident.
According to a statement issued by the command on Saturday, its spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the incident occurred on Thursday, August 27, 2026.
“The incident occurred on 27th August, 2026, at about 2300hrs, when the suspects allegedly attacked the complainant with dangerous weapons and robbed him of three mobile handsets around Chinko, Jimeta.
“Following a swift response by residents at the scene and intelligence-driven action by operatives attached to Jimeta Divisional Police Headquarters, the following suspects were arrested.”
According to the statement, the suspects are Bubakar Sadik Muhammed, aka Haske, of Chochi Rumde, and Hamma Jibrilla, aka Dzeco, of Kasan Shinko
The police said the recovered exhibits included two of the three stolen mobile phones and a knife.
The statement added that the Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State, CP Kabir Hassan, commended the operatives for their swift response and efforts in apprehending the suspects.
He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to dismantling criminal gangs and ensuring the safety and security of residents across the state.
The CP also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious persons, movements or activities to the police through the appropriate channels.
He added that the suspects would be charged to court after the completion of investigations.
