Police probe PDP candidate shooting

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has launched an investigation into the attempted assassination of Jude Ezenwafor, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate for the forthcoming Anambra State governorship election scheduled for 25 November.

Gunmen reportedly attacked and shot Ezenwafor near Wuse 2 in Abuja as he returned from an engagement.

Reacting to the incident, Superintendent Josephine Adeh, spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, confirmed that inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the shooting are still ongoing.

“The police command has not yet concluded investigations regarding the true nature of the incident,” Adeh said.

She urged members of the public with relevant information to assist the investigation by reporting to the nearest police station.

“Your cooperation will significantly aid our efforts and help ensure justice is served,” she added.
