Police probe Permanent Secretary abduction in Nasarawa

Police authorities in Nasarawa State have launched an investigation into the abduction of Yusuf Musa, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information.

In a statement on Tuesday, the spokesman for the Nasarawa State Police Command, Ramhan Nansel, revealed that a patrol team from B Division, Lafia, discovered a Peugeot pick-up van with its doors suspiciously left wide open at around 3:05 am on 15 July 2025.

Upon closer inspection, officers found the gate to the victim’s residence ajar, raising immediate security concerns. A swift search confirmed that Barrister Yusuf Musa was missing, along with his GMC vehicle, registration number KUJ 88 PA—prompting strong suspicions of abduction.

Following the discovery, Commissioner of Police, Shetima Mohammed, initiated a coordinated tactical response. He alerted all police divisions across the state—including those in Akwanga, Andaha, Garaku, and Kadarko—and deployed surveillance teams along key routes to intercept the suspected abductors.

The Commissioner has ordered a full-scale manhunt and assured the public of the Command’s determination to rescue the victim safely and arrest the perpetrators.

The Nasarawa Police Command has called on residents to stay calm, remain alert, and report any useful information to the nearest police station.
