The Nigeria Police Force has announced the promotion of its Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Olumuyiwa Adejobi, from Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).
The Police Service Commission approved the promotion in recognition of DCP Adejobi’s outstanding service, professionalism, and steadfast commitment to upholding the principles of effective policing in Nigeria.
Adejobi initially assumed the role of FPRO in an acting capacity on February 16, 2022, while holding the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), succeeding then-CP Frank Mba. His appointment was later confirmed by former IGP Usman Alkali (Rtd).
Since then, DCP Adejobi has served as the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force with notable distinction, spearheading various strategic reforms aimed at restoring public confidence, enhancing transparency, and upgrading the force’s communication systems.
A graduate of the University of Ibadan, he earned a Combined Honours degree in Archaeology and Geography, and later obtained a Master’s in Peace and Conflict Studies from the same institution. He served as the Police Public Relations Officer for Ogun State Police Command from 2008 to 2016.
With extensive experience in police operations, public relations, and law enforcement advocacy, DCP Adejobi continues to play a key role in shaping the public image of the Force.
Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, congratulated him on the new rank, encouraging him to continue being a beacon of discipline, service, and integrity.
The Nigeria Police Force reiterated its commitment to rewarding excellence and professionalism as part of its broader strategy to reposition the institution for improved service delivery.
