Rivers APC leader urges Tinubu to appoint Wike as campaign DG for 2027

A Rivers State All Progressives Congress chieftain, Princewill Dike, has urged President Bola Tinubu to appoint the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as Director-General of his Presidential Campaign Council.

Speaking to newsmen in Port Harcourt on Monday, Dike, a legal practitioner based in the city, expressed confidence that Wike, a former governor of Rivers State, possesses the political skill and network to lead a successful campaign for Tinubu in the 2027 elections.

He highlighted Wike’s track record, noting that even as governor, he demonstrated political ingenuity in overcoming opponents. “As Director-General of the PCC, Tinubu’s re-election is guaranteed,” Dike asserted.

Dike added that with Wike at the helm of the campaign, other presidential contenders would face difficulties. “Should the political wonder boy of Rivers State, Wike, become PBAT’s re-election Presidential Campaign Council DG, his opponents would be in trouble,” he said.

He praised Wike’s extensive political network, ability to generate campaign funds responsibly, dedication to working across states, and popularity, especially among youths. He also cited Wike’s role in delivering FCT Area Council election candidates to the All Progressives Congress, despite being a member of the opposition party at the time.

Dike further recalled Wike’s political achievements in Rivers State, including the 2015 governorship election, the 2019 elections, and the 2023 general elections, emphasizing his effectiveness in securing victories and mobilizing support for both his party and allies.
