The deputy governor of Rivers State, Ngozi Odu, has officially enrolled as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Odu completed her registration at her ward in Akabuka town, ward 8, unit 11, within Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of the state.
Moments after registering, the deputy governor sang “On Your Mandate We Shall Stand”, a song widely linked to President Bola Tinubu.
Her move to the APC comes weeks after Siminalayi Fubara, the Rivers State governor, also defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling party following a meeting with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa.
Fubara was later formally registered as an APC member by Tony Okocha, the party’s chairman in Rivers State, who said the action was carried out on the instruction of the APC national secretariat.
Meanwhile, the APC national chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, recently declared Fubara as the leader of the party in Rivers State.
