Sanwo-Olu inaugurates seven new permanent secretaries

Babajide Sanwo-Olu has sworn in seven new Permanent Secretaries into the Lagos State public service.

The ceremony also included the inauguration of the Chairman and members of the Lagos State Health Service Commission, held at the Banquet Hall of Lagos House, Ikeja.

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotosho, confirmed the development in a post on X, noting that the governor charged the new appointees to uphold professionalism, accountability, and efficient service delivery across government ministries and agencies.

The newly sworn-in Permanent Secretaries include Engr. Adeyemi Adetunji Adesanya (Ministry of Urban Development), Mrs Durodola Olusola Bukonla (Local Government Service Commission), Mrs Oladeji Oluwatoyin Olubunmi (Cabinet Office), Mr Sorungbe Tiwalade Adeyinka (Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology), Arc. Olukareh Bolanle Monica (Office of Works), Dr Oluwo Adenike Oluwafunmilayo (Health District II), and Dr Martins Babajide Olumuyiwa (Bureau of Public Defender).

Sanwo-Olu also inaugurated the Lagos State Health Service Commission, with Dr Oguntimehin Olukayode Olumuyiwa as Chairman, alongside other members appointed to strengthen the state’s health administration.

He urged the appointees to see their positions as a call to higher responsibility, emphasizing the need to improve governance structures and enhance service delivery, particularly in health, infrastructure, and public administration.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a more efficient public service capable of supporting Lagos’ development goals and meeting the needs of its growing population.
