The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has said Vice President Kashim Shettima’s planned visit to the state reflects President Bola Tinubu’s confidence in Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration.
The party also stated that the visit underscores growing cooperation between the federal government and Ekiti State in delivering development projects.
During the visit scheduled for Tuesday, Shettima is expected to commission the 1.2-kilometre Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Flyover at Okeyinmi, a major project of the Oyebanji administration. He will also flag off the Ekiti Knowledge Zone and inaugurate other projects.
The APC State Publicity Secretary, Segun Dipe, said in a statement in Ado Ekiti that the projects represent a blend of the federal government’s “Renewed Hope” agenda and the state’s “Shared Prosperity” programme.
He added that the visit would further strengthen collaboration between both levels of government, especially in infrastructure development and economic growth.
According to him, the projects being commissioned demonstrate visible progress in the state, including improved roads, completed infrastructure, and better public service delivery.
Dipe further noted that the visit sends a strong political message ahead of upcoming elections, stressing that continuity in leadership would ensure sustained development in Ekiti.
The APC also expressed confidence that the outcomes of the visit would boost public support for both the state government and the presidency.
He recalled that Shettima’s previous visit in 2024 also featured the commissioning of key projects, including roads and an MSME clinic.
