“Stay in peace, rejoice in peace, dance in peace” — Tinubu urges Nigerians to celebrate responsibly

President Bola Tinubu has appealed to Nigerians to remain moderate during the Christmas celebrations, especially regarding alcohol consumption, in the interest of peace and public safety.

The appeal was made in a 21-second video released by News Century TV on Sunday as the President hosted Eyo organisers at his Lagos residence, marking the beginning of activities ahead of the upcoming Eyo festival.

Tinubu encouraged citizens to celebrate with a sense of responsibility and to refrain from actions that could put lives at risk or disrupt public order, emphasizing that the festive period should reflect happiness, unity, and mutual respect.

“God will bless all of you. Stay in peace, rejoice in peace, dance in peace. No alcohol, no danger to anybody’s life. Everybody is a member of this great family.”
