Sunday Igboho’s security network rescues kidnap victims

Sunday Adeyemo has announced the rescue of a woman and her son who were abducted in Igbope, Oorelope Local Government Area of Oyo State.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Yoruba nation activist said his Iru Ekun Security Network, working with the Intelligence Response Team of the Nigeria Police Force, rescued Adijat Kubura Aliqlas and her son, Abdulmalik, during an operation in Kwara State.

According to the statement, the three-day operation relied on intelligence gathering and tracking to locate the kidnappers, who were allegedly lured into the forest with the promise of collecting ransom.

Igboho said security operatives engaged the abductors in a gun battle in the early hours of Saturday, forcing them to flee with gunshot wounds and abandon their captives.

He explained that the rescue team later located the victims after hearing them call for help in the forest.

The rescued mother and son were taken to Igboho General Hospital, where they are receiving medical treatment.

Igboho also acknowledged the support of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, saying coordination with the Commissioners of Police in Kwara and Niger states contributed to the success of the operation.

He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting efforts to protect lives and property in Oyo State and urged Nigerians to cooperate with legitimate security agencies while avoiding the spread of unverified information that could cause unnecessary panic.
