Three construction workers were injured on Tuesday after a building under construction collapsed in Akure, Ondo State.
The incident occurred at a site located beside the former All Progressives Congress (APC) State Secretariat along Oba Adesida Road, where the workers were reportedly carrying out their duties before the structure gave way.
The collapse, which happened at about 4 pm, left three workers injured, while another escaped without harm.
Those who sustained injuries were immediately taken to the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), where they are currently receiving treatment.
One of the project supervisors, Opeyemi Adeyemo, attributed the incident to human error.
Meanwhile, the Ondo State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Sunday Olajide, confirmed that the site has been sealed pending investigation.
Olajide stated that the state government would probe both the immediate and remote causes of the collapse.
