The Federal High Court in Warri, Delta State, has ordered the Nigeria Police Force and the Inspector-General of Police to maintain the status quo in the ongoing case over the tinted glass permit.
In its interim ruling, the court instructed police authorities to respect judicial processes until further proceedings take place.
Confirming the development, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Kunle Edun, who chairs the NBA Spidel Public Interest Litigation Committee, described the directive as a significant step towards upholding the rule of law while the substantive issues are resolved.
