President Bola Tinubu has appointed Yakubu Jang, son of former Plateau State Governor Jonah Jang, as a Senior Special Assistant in the Office of the President.
Vice President Kashim Shettima announced the appointment on Saturday while delivering a goodwill message on Tinubu’s behalf at the 80th birthday celebration of elder statesman and former Plateau State Governor, Da Jonah David Jang, alongside the public presentation of his autobiography in Jos.
“On behalf of Mr President, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Yakubu Jang as Senior Special Assistant in the Office of the President,” Shettima said.
The appointment was announced at the high-profile event held in Jos, which was attended by Vice President Shettima, former President Goodluck Jonathan, Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON.
Those present also includes Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, the Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas, the Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Mrs Josephine Piyo and other senior federal and state government officials.
Accompanying the Vice President were the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, former Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen, OFR and Senator Napoleon Bali.
