Tinubu begins three-nation Diplomatic tour

Bola Tinubu has departed Nigeria for France, kicking off a three-nation official visit that will also take him to Kenya and Rwanda.

The presidential aircraft took off from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Sunday, marking the start of a diplomatic tour focused on strengthening economic partnerships and attracting foreign investment.

After engagements in France, Tinubu will travel to Nairobi to attend the Africa–France Summit scheduled for May 11–12. The summit will be co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto, with discussions centred on energy transition, climate action, digital transformation, and economic cooperation.

The president is also expected to meet global leaders and investors during the summit as part of efforts to deepen Nigeria’s economic ties internationally.

From Kenya, Tinubu will proceed to Kigali for the Africa CEO Forum holding from May 14–15, where top executives and policymakers will explore investment opportunities and strategies to drive growth across the continent.

The presidency said the visit highlights Nigeria’s commitment to leveraging high-level engagements to boost economic development and expand global partnerships.
