President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday joined Muslim faithful in observing Eid prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos.
He was accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola; Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa; Deputy Governor and Lagos APC governorship candidate, Obafemi Hamzat, among other worshippers.
Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, confirmed the development in a post on his X handle.
He stated that “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside former Governor of Lagos State Babatunde Raji Fashola, the Lagos APC governorship candidate, and other Muslim faithful, observed the Eid Mubarak prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos State.”
Meanwhile, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar also observed Eid prayers with Muslim faithful at the AYA Mosque in Abuja.
In a post on his social media handle, Atiku said the prayers were offered in appreciation to Allah for His blessings.
“I joined fellow Muslims this morning at the AYA Mosque in Abuja to observe the Eid prayers in gratitude to Allah for His countless blessings,” he wrote.
He called for unity, peace, and compassion among Nigerians, noting that the celebration should strengthen national bonds.
“As we celebrate this sacred occasion, may the spirit of Eid strengthen our bonds of unity, compassion, sacrifice, and peace as one people and one nation,” Atiku said.
He also extended greetings to Muslims in Nigeria and across the world, praying for peace and prosperity.
