Tinubu orders military, police, DSS to hunt down terrorists behind Niger attack

President Bola Tinubu has ordered the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) to hunt down those responsible for the Kasuwan Daji attack and ensure they are promptly brought to justice.

The directive was announced in a statement released on Sunday by the President’s media aide, Bayo Onanuga.

According to reports, terrorists carried out a deadly assault on a village market in Kabe District of Borgu Local Government Area, Niger State, on Sunday, killing nearly 40 people.

Several others were abducted during the attack.

In his statement, the president also directed the security agencies to rescue all the abducted victims urgently.

“These terrorists have tested the resolve of our country and its people. They must, therefore, face the full consequences of their criminal actions. No matter who they are or what their intent is, they must be hunted down. They, and all those who aid, abet, or enable them in any form, will be caught and brought to justice,” the President declared.
