President Bola Tinubu has extended birthday wishes to the Chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, as he turns 66.
The President hailed Rabiu as one of the architects of modern Nigerian industry.
Tinubu conveyed the message in a statement released by the State House on Monday.
The statement noted that Rabiu, who also founded ASR Africa, celebrates his 66th birthday on Tuesday, August 4.
The President commended Rabiu for his consistent contributions to Nigeria’s industrial growth and economic progress.
“As our administration continues to reposition the economy for sustainable and inclusive growth, we value patriotic entrepreneurs like Abdul Samad Rabiu whose investments complement government’s efforts to build a more productive, competitive and prosperous Nigeria,” the President said.
Tinubu said he joined Rabiu’s family, friends, business associates and members of the Nigerian business community in honouring an entrepreneur whose career reflects vision, resilience and enterprise. He added that Rabiu’s achievements also underscore a steadfast belief in Nigeria’s potential.
The President stated that Rabiu’s investments have boosted local manufacturing and enhanced food security.
He added that the investments have generated thousands of employment opportunities while demonstrating that indigenous businesses can compete successfully across the continent.
“For decades, Abdul Samad Rabiu has exemplified the finest traditions of Nigerian entrepreneurship. He has built industries instead of seeking shortcuts, invested for the long term instead of chasing quick returns, and repeatedly demonstrated confidence in our country, even in periods when many preferred to wait on the sidelines,” Tinubu said.
The President noted that Rabiu’s accomplishments extend beyond the size of the businesses he has established. He said they are equally reflected in the factories that remain operational, the jobs they sustain and the communities they continue to support.
“His success is not measured only by the scale of the businesses he has built, but by the factories that continue to produce, the livelihoods they sustain, the communities they support and the confidence they inspire in Nigeria’s future.
“Through ASR Africa, he has also shown that prosperity carries with it a responsibility to give back and strengthen the institutions that serve our people,” the President said.
