Tinubu wins APC presidential ticket with 10.99m votes

President Bola Tinubu has emerged as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2027 general election after securing nearly 11 million votes in the party’s nationwide primary election.

Results from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory showed Tinubu comfortably defeating fellow aspirant Stanley Osifo, further consolidating his influence within the ruling party ahead of the next electoral cycle.

Tinubu polled 10,999,967 votes, while Osifo secured 16,504 votes in the direct primary election conducted across 8,809 wards nationwide.

Party officials announced the results during the ongoing national collation exercise at the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.

Governors from 31 states, alongside senior party leaders serving as coordinators and collation officers, presented the results to the Presidential Primary Election Committee chaired by former Senate President Pius Anyim.

Tinubu dominated voting across the country, recording strong performances in the South-West, North-West, North-Central, South-East and South-South regions.

In Lagos, he secured 814,988 votes, while Kano delivered 500,852 votes and Kaduna returned 618,914 votes. He also recorded major victories in states including Rivers, Delta, Imo, Benue and Katsina.

Osifo managed only scattered votes across a few states and failed to secure any vote in several others, including the Federal Capital Territory.
