Tope Osoba died at police station, not cancer — Fiancé

The fiancé of late Nollywood actress Tope Osoba, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, has clarified that the actress died at a police station in Ikorodu and not from complications arising from cancer.

Onadeko said Tope had earlier asked him to accompany her to visit a pastor, Kehinde Osoba, but he was unavailable at the time.

According to him, Tope eventually went with a friend while they continued communicating.

He said he was later shocked when he received a call from an unidentified person around midnight informing him that Tope had died at a police station in Ikorodu. The caller, however, did not disclose the particular station where the incident occurred.

Speaking on Saturday with Celestial Reality Check, a media unit of the Celestial Church of Christ, Onadeko said he did not know the exact police station involved, prompting him to report himself at the nearest police station.

He also disclosed that Tope had struggled with smoking but maintained that cancer was not responsible for her death, noting that she had previously undergone successful treatment.

Onadeko further dismissed reports concerning the actress’ financial situation and rejected allegations that she was poisoned.

Tope Osoba is expected to be buried on Thursday, August 13, 2026, in Iperu Remo, Ogun State.
