TRENDING: Asari Dokubo denies viral video, says critic of Tinubu is ‘my brother’

Asari Dokubo has dismissed claims linking him to a viral video in which a man criticised Bola Tinubu over the country’s economic challenges, clarifying that the individual in the clip is his brother.

The video, which circulated widely on social media, featured a man bearing a striking resemblance to Dokubo, delivering a message while dancing and calling on Tinubu to step down due to worsening hunger and rising fuel and commodity prices.

Many online users assumed the speaker was Dokubo, known for his strong support of the president.

Responding to the speculation, the activist said those making such claims were motivated by dislike for him, insisting that the man in the footage is his “brother from Bayelsa state”.

“I’m not the one in the video. He is my brother, Theophilus. He is from Bayelsa state and I’m from Rivers state. He is from Nembe, while I’m from Kalabari,” he said.

“But we are brothers. Very good brothers. Don’t mistake me for him.”

Dokubo reaffirmed his support for Tinubu, describing the president as a friend and stating that he should be given the opportunity to complete his second term in office.
