A remark attributed to the founder and lead pastor of Salvation Ministries, David Ibiyeomie, has sparked reactions on social media.
In a video clip circulating on X, Ibiyeomie was heard addressing the issue of internet fraud, popularly referred to as “Yahoo,” and its connection to church offerings.
“Y@hoo is st£aling. If you’re in this church and you’re doing Y@hoo, please don’t give your offering here, go to another place,” he said.
The comment has since generated mixed reactions among social media users, with some interpreting the statement as a strong condemnation of proceeds allegedly obtained through fraudulent activities.
Others, however, have questioned the broader implications of asking individuals involved in such activities to take their offerings elsewhere.
The clip continues to attract discussions online, with users sharing different perspectives on the responsibilities of religious institutions regarding donations and offerings from questionable sources.
It was not immediately clear when or where the viral video was recorded, as the full context of the sermon could not be independently established.

Yes I know it’s stealing and I don’t support it but how about politicians and governments officials in your congregation that also steals public’s funds. Can they also pay their offerings? Curiosity make me ask tho

Seems, this message will upset every Yahoo supporter. But God’s word and standards will never change. Yahoo is stealing. The church shouldn’t expect their offerings. When Yahoo guys give offerings, It’s more like a criminal reporting himself to God after his crimes.
— Godwin ROBINSON (@OdogwuGNR) September 7, 2026
He’s only preaching. What he said will never move the mind of any loyal yahoo boy from leaving his church. Hardly would you find any church in Nigeria that doesn’t ahbour Yahoo boys or men. I believe God himself is interested in their souls.

At least we don see one pastor that really condemns (only if it comes truelly from within), unlike others that are fully aware buh the taste to purchase a private jet won’t gree them say the truth. They should also talk on the Ashawo aspect.
