Supporters danced to Kizz Daniel’s “Buga” and campaign songs at an APC rally endorsing President Bola Tinubu for re-election in 2027, held on November 6 at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Akwa Ibom.
Tinubu inaugurated state projects during the event, where Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno pledged two million votes for the president.
Videos of the dancing prompted criticism online. Some users described the performances as tone-deaf amid Nigeria’s economic difficulties, while others saw the rally as putting spectacle ahead of policy achievements. One comment summed up the frustration: ‘in absence of achievements, they resorted to dancing’.
