In a now trending video, the Lagos State chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) staged a peaceful protest on Sunday, expressing deep concern over the nation’s rising wave of killings, kidnappings, and general insecurity.
This demonstration concluded a three-day nationwide prayer program held from May 22 to 24, 2026, aimed at pressing the government to aggressively tackle banditry.
Clergy and church members marched through the streets of Lagos holding placards with bold messages demanding
They called out specific tragedies such as the lingering Chibok schoolgirls case and the recent murder of teacher Michael Oyedokun in Oyo State, alongside describing states like Plateau, Benue, and Borno as daily killing fields. The PFN strongly urged national leaders to prioritize active security measures and the prosecution of perpetrators over political elections.

Here are some of the reactions from Netizens:
Tall _Chocolate is an Engine…: Tinubu should resign, if he can’t fix the insecurity and hunger problem of Nigerians
The Abuja Fitness Guy (@moo…): You cannot be begging the people who put Nigeria in turmoil and terror to save it from turmoil and terror, I really don’t understand how you people think.
Donald (@RealDonaldDoo): Our leaders are not against the killings in Nigeria and it shows. There’s so much they can do, that they’ve refused to do. It doesn’t affect how much money they make, so why will it worry them. Well done, PFN.
Mrs Adebayo (@BeckaBeck…): Nigerians themselves are not accountable people, they know that now that the church has come out they will be too chicken to follow suit. To be honest when Nigerians drag the church or pastors, it’s not because they want accountability, it is because they are angry and jealous that the church is growing and pastors are blessed.
Lagosian (@Ekoonibajeooo): Because Pastor Adeboye did not lead it. I am so happy the younger Pastors are stepping up. The church is marching forward.
Heart Mattaz by Rita (@Hea…): Thank you for sharing, Tobechukwu. I hope one day we will look back on this killing as only a memory. God help us fight this battle.
Adetola B. (@iy_gbenro): This is the way to go 💯👍🏾👍🏾
Nedu Ani (@Nedumcity_): Stop the killings,
Stop the persecution of Christian’s, Every life matters, Stop the economic hardship. Let Nigerians breath. The church have spoken.
Alàgbá Gábú..🎓 (@MindnPen): Because it was initially planned to be nationwide, only to announce a day before that, it should be centralised. See, we will not get anywhere with fear, and if it’s because the top of the church is dining with our enemies, God sees it all. The point is, we need to march out
Chief Babájídé Àpáta (@Ap…): Thank you for speaking up on behalf of the persecuted Christians of Nigeria Pastor Yemi Davids and other PFN members
Uchesame (@uchesame): This is very commendable by the PFN. Glad they are not quiet while the national leadership of CAN has been compromised.
jeth.eth 🦅 (@jaykosai): now that killings are coming closer to home, that’s when we remember protest but when it was in the north, we saw no protest
