[TRENDING VIDEO] Outrage trails Dino Melaye claim of over “200 cars without government contracts”

Former Nigerian senator and lawyer Dino Melaye has sparked mixed reactions during a podcast appearance, claiming that he currently owns over 200 cars and is still actively adding more to his collection.

The statement was made during a KAA Truths podcast interview, dismissing politics as a business and urging focus on issues like kidnappings, killings, and too many churches over industries.

In part he said, “I have over 200 cars and I’m still collecting More. I Don’t Care What People Say About Me. I Have Never Done Government Contracts, State Or Federal. Politics Is Not Supposed To Be a Business In Nigeria. But Because People See It As a Business And a Means Of Livelihood, That Is Why They’re Dying And Fighting To Go To The National Assembly And Become Governors. Look At The Rate Of K!dnapping And K!lling Going On In This Government.”

Responses ranged from support for his personal car passion to skepticism about his wealth sources after his Senate years and criticism of flaunting luxury amid economic struggles. One view called the cars non-productive liabilities without a manufacturing firm, while others saw him as a businessman at heart.

Here are some of the reactions from social media users:

Victory 4 OBI (@talk2_vico): Dino is one of the highest hypocrite there is, he is no different from the rest of them, how many industries did he create when he was a senator? It’s not always about been loud and the display of big English, what did you do when you had the opportunity? Mtchewww, I feel pity for the common man sha. Shalom 🙏

BigJosh (@Joshmustbeheard): I laugh whenever Dino Melaye posts videos of his luxurious car garage and Nigerians begin to wail about “how our politicians are stealing our public wealth and enriching himself”. Dino is a proper businessman. He’s only held two posts and not longer than 4 years each. Which…

IRONSIDE 🇬🇩 (@swecryptode…): Ain’t nothing wrong being a car collector

CarysAFC 🇮🇹🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿💊 (@unknow…): But you held a govt office in NIGERIA whats the difference

Add one + one the answer is there with you

Hairy Boy 👨🏾‍🦱⚡️ (@onlyattab…): Having over 200 [luxurious] cars when you do not own a car manufacturing company is having liabilities. This has been the problem with African men: buy fleet of cars and be moving around your poor neighborhood to show them how rich you have become instead of using those monies to build factories and companies to create our Nigerian silicon valley.

‘I have never done government contract’ when you were once a senator. Okay.

Spaxe X (@sapientgeek): Easier for a thief to waste money buying things he doesn’t need than spend it running a business because he doesn’t have the intelligence needed to run a business.

Paul Bushman (@Paul_Bush…): This is one of the finest podcast highlights video edit I’ve seen. Topnotch

D’ Royal Priesthood (עמנואל…): Misplaced priority? Maybe not

Chudichris (@ChudiChris0): Over 200 cars and still collecting? 😳 Nigerians go naturally ask one question: wetin be the business model wey fund this kind lifestyle? Because 200 cars no be small hobby at all.

Ola 🇨🇦🍁 (@saint_ola): He’s a big fool, all that he has is money, no joy, no real life achievement

Samuel O. Dada (@cybersp…): What is the source of his wealth?

A_ABDUL. (@Double_Abd…): E concern you… we sha know sai na government money u take start your life and no be small money we are talking about here.

Cause bro you no reach level of a car collector, u came across free money and jist wanna spend it anyao ni.😌

Loner (@SolomonTheophi9): He is just a politician but owes 200 plus cars only in Nigeria only in the corrupt hopeless corrupt country like Nigeria it’s only in Nigeria that politicians see politics as a way of becoming a billionaire without business and Nigerians hails the them

CR7 (@TBag00l): Sha carry all of dem go heaven if at all u go make am to there… Perhaps na must

Praiz 📸 (@FunomPraiz): You won’t take anyone to heaven or hell me man. And you can only drive one at a time. All these wealth ends here

softbouy2020 (@TomTom_149): And yet the gatekeeper attached to him could not afford 3k naira to pay his mechanic transport fare the other day.

Umuojime | (@umuojime): Dino Melaye saying Nigeria needs more industries than churches is 100% true, but the irony is loud

Bro, you have over 200 luxury cars parked in your house doing nothing. Imagine how many small factories or jobs that money could have created instead.

Graduate🎓 (@Alexandaaa…): A former senator has not done any government contracts? Lies

LOUISFIRE💯 (@Louisfire07): Is senator not considered as government contract too?

Zatas (@zatas70): What is his source of income cause he owns no company

Tolbat (@Tolbat3): When you die approach the gates of hell in a nice Lambo and take a seat in hell fire

SISTER ✂️✂️✂️✂️✂️ (@Ershi…): You still haven’t accounted for constituency project allocations

Lion of Judah (@Hay1573017…): There is nothing to learn from this man. Nigerians are suffering and you’re saying these. So that?

ola (@S_SQUARE88): Even if you buy with your money, it is madness; no serious person behaves like this useless man. Two hundred cars… Those who are doing the business don’t even have up to that. Crazy man.

sakamanje of lagos🧜‍♂️🧜‍♂️🧜‍♂️🧜‍♂️: Person way gateman no fit afford 3,000 ₦ mechanic bill

Osaro (@Godzillain7): Any guy man go know say this man don kpo as him Dey sip him whisky before he come this interview
