[TRENDING VIDEO] “Seyi Tinubu prostrated to greet me, Obi never acknowledged my support,” Fayose dumps Obidient movement

Popular Nigerian content creator Isaac Fayose has announced that he is no longer aligned with the Obidient movement and has declared support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Fayose, who is the younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, made the announcement in a video shared on his official Instagram page on Friday, July 17, 2026.

His declaration came days after he revealed that he met Seyi Tinubu, the president’s son, at a bar, where he spent time with celebrity barman Cubana Chief Priest and other associates.

At the end of the gathering, Seyi Tinubu accompanied Fayose to his car, where they held hands and prayed for President Tinubu and Nigeria. A video of the moment later went viral, showing them singing the campaign anthem, “On Your Mandate We Shall Stand.”

The development generated criticism from some supporters of Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, popularly known as the Obidients, who questioned Fayose’s sudden change in political position.

Reacting to the backlash, Fayose accused members of the Obidient movement of being ungrateful despite the support he claimed to have offered them during the 2023 election.

He said he voluntarily provided his hotel in Ibadan for members of the movement during the election period but neither Peter Obi nor any of his children visited or acknowledged his efforts.

Fayose also praised Seyi Tinubu for his humility, recalling that the president’s son removed his cap to greet him during their meeting. He described Seyi as respectful and said he admired both him and President Tinubu.

He captioned the video: “I love Tinubu I love @seyitinubu I don’t care what you think 🤔 Every man for himself God for us all.”

realkingivr stress, “Many Nigerians are so unwise. Supporting different political candidates should never make us enemies. Elections come and go, but life goes on. You can’t expect Egbon Isaac to ignore Seyi simply because of politics. As Yoruba people, we respect those who show us respect. Sharing a meal, having a conversation, or praying together does not mean people share the same political views. And even if he eventually decides to support another candidate, that is his personal choice and fundamental human right. Democracy is about the freedom to choose. Why are so many people crying over assumptions instead of focusing on facts?”

fustinustochi reacted, “You have the right to withdraw your support if you wish, but after all you have said about the government and you go back to them is your integrity not mine, what ever you are against and what you speak against stand on what you believe do not let them manipulate you.”

highchiefobiojulius noted, “Welcome to the APC. At least, now let all these dramas and mind games you’re playing stop, bros. All this your attitude na see finish. Just recently, you were insulting Wike at every opportunity. Now you’re saying he’s your family friend, and you’re even reminding everyone that your brother is Wike’s friend. You even said if you need land, you can simply go to Wike. So, what happened to all the insults you directed at him and others in the past? Oga, Nigeria is sweet. There’s money here that’s why you brought your money to invest here. You’re not doing anybody a favour, so please stop all this drama. No dey use shame chop poison. Just sing the song at once. You thought you could take on the government before, but now your eyes have opened. 😂😂😂 Now you know there’s no way for your Peter Obi. You’re now trying to quietly move away, saying none of them ever appreciated or thanked you for all the work you did for them. 😂 They sent you messages asking for your help before, but bros, you’re a smart man. Didn’t you realize Obi was playing mind games with all of you? You even tried to package your move by claiming Seyi came to meet you. Story for the gods! Oga Isaac, welcome on board. Always remember nobody beat government na government kill Jesus oh. Na as you start real estate now you no say you need wike na matter how crazy person be government fir humble you if one do too much okay. Pay attention last last we won one more time welcome on board. I re o.”

Despite the controversy, Fayose maintained his position, insisting that his support for Tinubu and Seyi Tinubu was based on his personal choice.
