A tragic incident occurred today, May 20, when a stray bullet, reportedly fired by a policeman in pursuit of a suspected fraudster, claimed the life of a young student en route to sit for his West African Examination Council (WAEC) exams.

Eyewitnesses stated that the officer, in an attempt to apprehend a fleeing suspect, discharged his firearm, accidentally striking the student, who was riding on his father’s motorcycle. The boy was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but was sadly declared dead on arrival.
