Trump warns of ‘Purge’ in South Korea

US President Donald Trump on Monday claimed a “purge or revolution” appeared to be unfolding in South Korea, just hours before new President Lee Jae Myung was scheduled to meet him at the White House.

Trump posted on social media: “WHAT IS GOING ON IN SOUTH KOREA? Seems like a Purge or Revolution. We can’t have that and do business there,” without clarifying what he meant.

The remarks came after South Korean prosecutors filed an arrest warrant on Sunday for former prime minister Han Duck-soo. He is accused of assisting ex-president Yoon Suk Yeol in his failed attempt to impose martial law last December.
