The White House on Monday confirmed that a proposal for a 45-day ceasefire with Iran is under consideration, but said Donald Trump has not approved the plan and military operations are ongoing.
US media reports indicate that mediators have presented the ceasefire proposal to Washington as part of efforts to de-escalate the Middle East conflict.
“This is one of many ideas, and POTUS (Trump) has not signed off on it. Operation Epic Fury continues,” a White House official told AFP.
The official added that President Trump is expected to provide further details on the conflict during a press conference scheduled for 1:00 p.m. (1700 GMT).
