Legendary Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia, better known as 2Baba, has denounced the spate of killings in Benue State, describing the attacks on communities in Otukpo Local Government Area as unacceptable.
The Benue-born musician made the statement on Wednesday while visiting Otukpo-Nobi, one of the communities recently attacked by suspected armed herdsmen.

His visit followed the deadly assault carried out on July 12, 2026, when gunmen reportedly killed at least 10 residents and injured several others in the community.

Posting a video from the visit on his Instagram page, 2Baba wrote, “Benue is home. When home hurts, we all feel it. Today is about standing together, listening, and reminding one another that hope is never lost.”

While speaking with members of the community, the singer expressed sympathy for the victims and their families, calling on relevant stakeholders to work together in finding lasting solutions to the recurring attacks.

He said the continued violence had reached an alarming level and could no longer be overlooked.

“It’s becoming too much now, we can’t pretend anymore. We need to begin planning. It won’t be automatic but there is definitely going to be a solution,” he said.

The award-winning artiste also emphasised that restoring peace would require a united effort from everyone involved.

“It’s not going to be one person, we all need to come together and fight it. I came to sympathise with you all. It’s painful,” he added.
