Residents of Oshodi, Lagos, were thrilled on Wednesday when a young woman gave birth by the roadside.
Eyewitnesses said the woman was travelling from Ajah to an undisclosed location when she suddenly went into labour.
The incident attracted several nearby women, who promptly gathered to help her deliver the baby.
One onlooker described the moment as “a clear act of God,” praising the swift intervention of the women, which ensured both mother and child were safe.
Attempts to reach the woman’s husband by phone were unsuccessful at first, but friends on the scene helped coordinate support until he arrived shortly after the delivery.
The atmosphere was filled with joy as passersby stopped to congratulate the new mother. Market women in the area hailed the birth as a blessing, calling it a sign of divine favour for the community.
