A former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, on Thursday wedded another wife in Abuja.
The new bride, identified as Hiqma is the former Governor’s fourth.
The private ceremony, which was held in Abuja on Saturday, was attended by close family and friends.
The marriage was confirmed by Hafiza Yahaya Bello, the former governor’s third wife, in a recent Instagram post.
She expressed gratitude to God for the new addition to their family and extended a warm welcome to the newest wife.
“Alhamdulillah, our family just got a little bigger and more loving! A warm welcome to our new family member, Mrs. Hiqma Yahaya Bello! May Allah bless our union and fill our home with love, peace, and Barakah. Amin,” she wrote.
NewsClick Nigeria reports that the embattled former Governor had in June approached the Federal High Court for the release of his international passport to allow him to travel abroad for medical treatment.
Bello is currently facing prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged involvement in money laundering totaling ₦80.2 billion.
However, the EFCC opposed his plea asking him to patronise one of the health facilities he built as Governor.
Bello, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), served as Kogi state governor from 2016 to 2023.
