‘You’re scavengers’ — Kenneth Okonkwo blats pro-Tinubu City Boy supporters

Kenneth Okonkwo has criticised politicians linked to the City Boy Movement (CBM), a youth-focused group supporting President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, describing them as “political scavengers”.

Speaking during an appearance on Symfoni TV, the actor-turned-politician accused members of the group of backing the president for personal benefits, likening their actions to “feeding on crumbs” from Tinubu’s table.

“They are scavenging on crumbs that fall from Tinubu’s table,” he said.

Okonkwo claimed the group does not represent the Igbo people, adding that their actions undermine the dignity of the community.

“The Igbo have rejected them. It is an insult to Ndigbo. We wear our Isiagu because we hunt for our food with dignity like lions and eat fresh meat.”

He further described politicians who have declared support for Tinubu as “vultures”, insisting he would rather preserve his dignity than seek political advantage.

“We don’t scavenge like vultures. Those politicians who allegedly endorsed Tinubu are political scavengers, scavenging from rotten crumbs that fall from Tinubu’s table,” he said.

“They are political children drinking from the feeding bottle of Tinubu. I am Igbo, I would rather die in dignity than to scavenge from the rotten crumbs that fall from Tinubu’s table.

“Throughout my life, it has been with talent and skills that I have been used to hunt and eat my food. I will never scavenge for rotten crumbs. Those people who say they have endorsed Tinubu, sorry, they are Tinubu’s slaves, not genuine Igbo people.”
