APC reschedules national caucus, NEC meetings

The All Progressives Congress has announced new dates for its forthcoming National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings.
Initially set for December 15–16, 2025, the gatherings have been moved to December 18–19, the party disclosed.

The change was conveyed in an official notice titled ‘Change of Meeting Dates’, issued by the National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Basiru, and posted on his X account on Sunday.

According to the notice, the National Caucus will now convene on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., while the NEC meeting will take place on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 3:00 p.m.

Both meetings are scheduled to hold at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The document emphasises that all members are invited in accordance with Articles 12.3 and 13.3 of the APC Constitution, which outline the composition of these key party organs.

The National Caucus comprises high-profile figures, including the President and Vice President of Nigeria, past and present APC-affiliated presidents and vice presidents, serving and former governors, and zonal representatives.

The NEC, the party’s highest decision-making body, includes “the National Chairman, Deputy National Chairmen (North and South), National Secretary, Deputy National Secretary, National Legal Adviser, Deputy Legal Adviser, National Treasurer, and Deputy Treasurer.”

Others include the National Organising Secretary, National Financial Secretary, National Publicity Secretary, National Women and Youth Leaders, Deputy Leaders, State Chairmen, zonal representatives, and members elected by the National Convention, among others.

The rescheduling comes just days after the initial announcement of the December 15–16 dates, which were intended to mark the party’s first major gatherings in over a year.

The notice did not specify reasons for the change.

“All Members are by this invitation to TAKE NOTICE of the meeting in accordance with Article 11.5 of the Constitution,” the notice stated.
