A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Olagunsoye Oyinlola has warned that Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state will be ruining his political future if he caves in to pressure to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Recall that Adeleke recently retraced his step back to the PDP and publicly endorsed President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as his preferred candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Thursday, the former Osun governor said Adeleke is under pressure to join the APC but insisted that such a move would not be supported by the people of Osun.
“APC has not fared well with the people of Osun,” the former governor said.
“Telling him to roll over to APC will mean ruining his political future. Obviously, the people will not go along with that. He knows that, but there is pressure on him.”
He highlighted ongoing governance challenges in the state, noting that LG allocations have been withheld for six months, affecting service delivery.
“It’s now six months since the local government allocation in Osun state has been withheld, which means the people of Osun state have been shortchanged because the local government is no longer running,” he said.
“As governor, whom the people have reposed their confidence in to govern them well, he must do something to ensure that the government is running well.”
