England and Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has won the 2026 Men’s Ballon d’Or, while Spain international Alexia Putellas has claimed the Women’s Ballon d’Or for the third time.
The awards were presented on Monday, October 26, at the London Palladium in London, marking the 70th anniversary of football’s prestigious individual award.
Kane’s triumph makes him the first Englishman to win the men’s award since Michael Owen in 2001. Putellas, meanwhile, returned to the top of women’s football after previously winning the award in 2021 and 2022.
Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal also continued his impressive run by winning the Men’s Young Talent of the Year award for the third consecutive time, while teammate Vicky López secured the women’s equivalent for the second year running.
Paris Saint-Germain retained the Men’s Club of the Year honour, while Barcelona claimed the women’s award. Spain manager Luis de la Fuente and Barcelona women’s coach Pere Romeu were recognised in their respective coaching categories.
