Wilfred Ndidi has stressed that the Super Eagles cannot afford another setback against Rwanda.
The team recently stumbled, failing to secure a win against the Warriors of Zimbabwe in their previous home match.
Éric Chelle’s side will welcome the Amavubi in a decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matchday seven clash at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Saturday. Victory is essential if Nigeria is to remain in the race for a ticket to the mundial.
Ndidi Declares War On Rwanda
Following this encounter, the Super Eagles will face another pivotal game against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana next Tuesday.
Speaking ahead of the match, Ndidi emphasized that the immediate priority is Rwanda.
The Besiktas midfielder made it clear that securing all three points against the Amavubi is the team’s foremost goal.
Chance For Redemption
“We are not looking at the game against South Africa yet, because the game against Rwanda is the most important one in our hands right now, and we can’t let it slip,” Ndidi told reporters in Uyo.
“If we let it slip, it’s finished. If we let the Rwanda game slip, there’s nothing like rivalry in South Africa. We have to win the game against Rwanda first, then we focus on the game against South Africa.”
