AFCON 2025: CAF to offer free e-visas for traveling fans

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the AFCON Morocco 2025 Local Organising Committee announced on Friday that supporters travelling for the tournament will be able to obtain electronic visas at no cost.

The initiative applies to nationals of countries that typically require a visa to enter Morocco.

According to a statement on CAF’s website, “Electronic visas for entry into Morocco — accessed via the YALLA app — are now free for fans attending the competition, scheduled from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.”

CAF explained that the move follows a surge in global interest in Africa’s premier football event, with more supporters securing tickets.

The organisation noted that visitors will need both a Fan ID and an e-visa to stay in Morocco and access stadiums during the tournament.

“A Fan ID is compulsory for entry into all stadiums and official Fan Zones. Supporters can apply for both the Fan ID and the e-visa directly through the YALLA app, simplifying travel and venue access,” the statement said.

CAF added that the application process for both documents is smooth and secure within the app, ensuring a better experience for both international and local fans.

To apply, supporters are advised to download the YALLA app from Google Play or the App Store, or visit the official website, complete the Fan ID application, and submit the e-visa request if necessary.

Once approved, fans can proceed to buy match tickets through CAF’s ticketing portal.

CAF stated that the new system aims to provide a safe and seamless experience at Africa’s flagship tournament, which will take place across nine stadiums in six host cities.

Morocco will be hosting the competition for the first time since 1988, with high anticipation surrounding the event, strong continental rivalries, and emerging African talents set to shine.

A total of 24 nations will take part in the finals.
