Akor Adams featured as Venezia ended their three-match losing run with a 2-1 victory over fellow Serie A strugglers Udinese on Friday.
The Nigerian forward played the full 90 minutes, making his 11th appearance in the Italian top flight for Venezia this season.
Maduka Okoye also featured for Udinese, marking his 11th league appearance of the campaign.
The bottom-of-the-table encounter in Gameweek 11 saw 20th-placed Venezia, who had collected three points from their opening 10 matches, secure a narrow victory over Udinese, who started the game in 19th place with five points.
After a goalless first half, Toma Bašić broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute. Matías Moreno then scored an own goal four minutes later to restore parity before Kike Pérez netted the winning goal in the 65th minute.
Both teams entered the fixture in poor form. Newly promoted Venezia, managed by Davide Nicola following Giovanni Stroppa’s departure in mid-October, had recorded only one league victory all season. That win came against Napoli in Nicola’s first match in charge.
However, Venezia subsequently lost their next three games without scoring. They had suffered nine defeats in their opening 10 league fixtures, scoring just six goals while conceding heavily.
Udinese were also struggling, having lost seven of their previous eight matches, including a 5-2 home defeat to Roma. The poor run led to the dismissal of Kosta Runjaic.
Former Venezia manager Paolo Zanetti took charge of Udinese for the first time against his former club. Before Friday’s encounter, Udinese had scored 11 goals and conceded 23 in 10 league matches.
Despite the victory, Venezia remain in the relegation zone with six points, while Udinese sit bottom of the table with five points.
