Barcelona hit 39 goals in nine games, set La Liga history

Barcelona are making history in La Liga after producing an explosive attacking display in the opening weeks of the season.

Their latest result was a 5-2 win over Real Betis on the road, extending their winning streak to nine matches and keeping their perfect league record intact.

The Spanish champions have now scored 39 goals in their first nine league fixtures, placing them second on the all-time list for the most goals scored by a team at this stage of a La Liga campaign.

Sevilla remain the only side ahead of them, having registered 42 goals in their opening nine matches during the 1940–41 season.

Barcelona have also equalled Real Madrid’s record for the most consecutive victories at the start of a La Liga campaign, underlining their impressive form.

With their forwards continuing to deliver, Barcelona will be looking to maintain their momentum and challenge Sevilla’s long-standing record as the season unfolds.
