Barcelona’s preparations have suffered another setback after the team’s flight to Paris was delayed, leaving the players waiting at the airport.
Spanish journalist Marc Núñez of La Sexta reported that the entire Barcelona squad was still at Barcelona Airport following the disruption to their travel arrangements.
The team was originally expected to depart at 10:30 am, but the flight was rescheduled for 11:50 am. According to Marca, thick fog in Paris caused the delay and disrupted air traffic.
The latest setback could affect Barcelona’s planned training session, which is scheduled for 6:30 pm, as the team may have less time to prepare.
The delay comes after the Spanish champions encountered travel problems following their 5-2 victory over Real Betis in LaLiga.
Bad weather forced the squad to spend the night in Seville after the match before returning to Barcelona on Sunday.
Their preparation was also affected on Sunday, when the club replaced its scheduled outdoor training with a gym recovery session.
The latest travel disruption has added to the challenges facing Barcelona as they try to maintain their preparation schedule ahead of their next assignment.
