Bayer Leverkusen set €50m price tag on Victor Boniface amid transfer speculations

Bundesliga side Bayer 04 Leverkusen, former league champions, have reportedly placed a €50 million valuation on Super Eagles forward Victor Okoh Boniface, amid rumors of his potential departure.

The 24-year-old enjoyed an impressive debut season with Die Werkself, netting 21 goals and providing nine assists in 34 appearances across all competitions. Under manager Xabi Alonso, he contributed to Leverkusen’s league title and DFB Pokal triumph.

However, Boniface’s performance has declined this season due to injuries, managing just 11 goals in 27 appearances. With the summer transfer window approaching, reports suggest that Leverkusen is considering offloading the Nigerian attacker.

According to Sport Bild, the German club has reduced their asking price for Boniface, signaling their intention to part ways. The former Union Saint-Gilloise star was previously close to joining Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr in a €70 million deal during the winter transfer window. However, the move fell through as Al-Nassr opted to sign John Duran instead.

Since the failed transfer, Boniface has struggled for game time, often finding himself on the bench and scoring only twice in the latter half of the season.
