Besiktas take Tammy Abraham on loan from AS Roma

Turkish club Besiktas announced on Friday that they have secured a loan deal for English striker Tammy Abraham from AS Roma, with an option to make the move permanent.

According to the club, the 27-year-old forward, who completed his medical upon arrival in Istanbul on Tuesday, will spend the season on loan, with a potential permanent transfer valued at €13 million starting from the 2026–27 season.

“A loan fee of 2,000,000 euros will be paid to AS for the 2025-2026 season,” Besiktas said, adding that if contractual conditions were met, the move would be made permanent for “a transfer fee of 13,000,000 euros”.

The transfer fee is expected to be paid in instalments through 2030.

Earlier on Tuesday, the club confirmed it had opened negotiations with AS Roma and the player, who still has a year remaining on his contract with the Italian side. His full name is Kevin Oghenetega Tamaraebi Bakumo-Abraham.

Abraham joined AS Roma in August 2021 from Premier League side Chelsea on a five-year deal worth €41 million (£35 million, \$48 million). He played a key role in the club’s triumph in the 2022 UEFA Europa Conference League.

Most recently, the former England international spent the 2024–25 season on loan at Roma’s city rivals, AC Milan, where he scored 10 goals across all competitions.
