Chelle sets sights on making history at Real Madrid

Super Eagles head coach Eric Sékou Chelle has openly stated his ambition to become the first African to take charge of Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The Nigeria national team coach made the declaration while discussing his long-term career objectives, noting that he is determined to reach the highest level of European club football.

“My dream is to become the first African coach to manage Real Madrid,” Chelle said.

The Malian-born tactician recently led the Super Eagles to a third-place finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, a run that further boosted his rising profile on the African football scene.

Chelle’s remarks have since sparked widespread reactions within the football community, with many describing his ambition as a reflection of the growing recognition of African coaches in global football.
