Chelsea beat AC Milan 3-0 to win Indonesia Super Cup

Chelsea defeated AC Milan 3-0 in Jakarta on Saturday to win the 2026 Indonesia Super Cup, with Joao Pedro scoring twice and Moises Caicedo adding a spectacular third goal.

The victory came in Chelsea’s fourth match of their pre-season tour, with head coach Xabi Alonso’s side controlling much of the contest at the GBK Stadium in front of 40,856 spectators, according to a post-match report published on the club’s website.

Joao Pedro opened the scoring in first-half stoppage time when he met Caicedo’s corner and glanced a header beyond Milan goalkeeper Lorenzo Torriani.

The Brazilian doubled Chelsea’s advantage shortly after the restart, with Pedro Neto providing the assist.

Neto shifted the ball onto his left foot before delivering a cross to the back post, where Joao Pedro escaped his marker and guided the ball into the net.

Caicedo then extended Chelsea’s lead in the 50th minute with a fine outside-of-the-boot volley.

The goal came from another corner, with Romeo Lavia playing the ball towards the edge of the penalty area for the Ecuadorian midfielder to fire into the corner.

Milan made several changes at half-time, while Alonso kept his starting XI intact as Chelsea continued to create opportunities after taking a three-goal lead.

Cole Palmer forced another save from Torriani with a shot from 18 yards, while Nicolas Jackson, who was introduced alongside Geovany Quenda in the second half, also went close and struck the post after a strong run into the Milan penalty area.

Chelsea started the match with Robert Sanchez in goal, while Josh Acheampong, Wesley Fofana, Jorrel Hato and Marco Palestra formed the defence.

Caicedo captained the side alongside Lavia in midfield, with Palmer, Joao Pedro, Neto and Danny Welbeck completing the attacking line-up.

The victory marked Chelsea’s first piece of silverware on their Indonesian pre-season tour and provided a strong boost to their preparations for the 2026/27 campaign.

Chelsea will return to action on Sunday when they travel to Malaysia to face Johor Darul Ta’zim.

The match is scheduled for 8pm local time and 1pm UK time.
