Real Betis suffered defeat in the UEFA Conference League final, as Chelsea scored four goals in the second half to seal a 4-1 victory in Poland.
With the win, Chelsea become the first football club to claim titles in the Europa League, Champions League, and Europa Conference League.
Manuel Pellegrini’s team started strongly against their Premier League opponents and were rewarded with an early goal in the ninth minute. After winning possession, Isco played the ball to Ez Abde, who beat former Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen with a clinical finish.
It was a perfect start for Betis, and they had opportunities to extend their lead. Marc Bartra was denied by a sharp save from Jorgensen, and Johnny Cardoso missed a promising chance after being set up by Abde. Their inability to capitalize on those chances would ultimately cost them.
Chelsea found the equalizer just past the hour mark following sustained pressure in the second half. Cole Palmer delivered an excellent cross that found Enzo Fernandez, who headed home from close range.
Just five minutes later, Chelsea turned the game on its head. Palmer was once again instrumental, beating Romaine Perraud before delivering another precise cross, this time for Nicolas Jackson—also a former Villarreal player—to score.
Betis were left chasing the match, and a costly error from Youssef Sabaly allowed Jadon Sancho to curl in Chelsea’s third goal in the 83rd minute. The night got even worse for the Spanish side in stoppage time, when Moises Caicedo’s deflected strike made it 4-1 in favor of the London club.
