Chelsea proves they can take on any team after Barcelona win – Delap

Liam Delap has stated that Chelsea’s dominant victory over Barcelona shows they are capable of taking on any top team.

The Blues delivered a commanding display to beat Barcelona 3-0.

Chelsea opened the scoring before the half-hour mark when Marc Cucurella’s run down the flank and Pedro Neto’s attempt on goal led to Jules Kounde inadvertently deflecting the ball into his own net.

After the break, with Barcelona reduced to 10 men, Estevao made it 2-0 with a brilliant solo effort and finish.

Delap then completed the scoring by converting Enzo Fernandez’s precise pass for the third goal.

He described the win as a memorable moment that moves Chelsea up to fifth in the league phase standings. Delap emphasized the team’s unity and preparation, praising everyone for executing the game plan effectively and delivering an outstanding performance.

He added that the squad is building something strong, improving every day, and approaching each match with confidence, demonstrating that they can compete with any opponent.

Delap credited head coach Enzo Maresca’s strategy, which focused on controlling the game against Barcelona, and highlighted the team’s disciplined defensive display.

He noted the importance of ball movement to create opportunities and expressed pride in the team’s collective effort.

Chelsea now turn their attention to a London derby against Premier League leaders Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
